Dark Side Troopers Stormtrooper Armor Raffle
On Saturday, October 7th, Richard Beer of Film Action Oregon and Dark Side Troopers pulled the winning raffle ticket!
(drumroll, please)
And the winner is.....
Heather Brask of Portland, Oregon!
The runners-up and winners of one Dark Side Troopers t-shirts (each) are Reba Kenison of Beaverton and Jason Kampa of Portland, Oregon.
Congratulations, Heather and thanks to everyone who entered the raffle and to those that came out to support us over the past seven months.
If you missed the actual drawing, that means you also missed out on a fantastic presentation by the Oregon FanForce. The Star Wars Independent Film Festival showcased an excellent selection of fan-made Star Wars movies.
As always with any of our events, the Dark Side Troopers were promoting Star Wars and raising money for charity. Admission to the film
festival went directly to the Oregon Food Bank.
Dark Side Troopers sold a total of 456 tickets (out of 500) raising over $1,300 for the beneficiary, Film Action Oregon! To view photos of the event, check out the Armor Raffle Drawing & SWIFF Gallery
Film Action Oregon works in three areas - educating emerging filmmakers in the art
and craft of making documentaries, supporting working artists as they produce new thought-provoking
works for the screen and engaging diverse audiences through programming independent, foreign and
classic films at the 1926 Hollywood Theatre. Film Action Oregon purchased the historic
Theatre in 1997 and focused the majority of its energy on preserving the Portland landmark and providing
a space for community events and for independent filmmakers to show their work. In 2003, the organization
began supporting local film production and soon thereafter began Project Youth Doc, offering summer
instruction in documentary production to teenagers.
